Mission: “Empowering Women For Life”

  1. Mission Statement

Women for Christ International Foundation, Inc. (WFCIF), is a Federally Registered 501(c)3 community-based non-profit organization. WFCIF is a community support organization based in Gainesville, Georgia, with the mission of “empowering women for life. We welcome all people without regard to culture, race, ethnicity, or religion.” WFCIF serves women from all walks of life and helps to identify and address barriers to success.  Through WFCIF, women and their families receive Free Emotional healing from memories program [Inner Healing], mentorship, counseling services, literacy training, and resources needed to ensure that they can lead healthy and productive lives. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

2. Focus:

MENTAL HEALTH

Mental Health is defined as the state of well-being in which the individual realizes their abilities, can cope with the everyday stresses of life, and can contribute to her community. Mental Health services are very costly and are most often made accessible to patients who have health insurance. Gainesville, Ga., has a limited number of agencies that provide Mental Health services. The high cost of services and the limited availability make them inaccessible to the population most in need.

3. Service & Goals

The organization’s primary goal is to provide free resources needed to help women lead productive and healthy lives both personally and professionally. To that end, WFCIF offers a variety of programs and services that address barriers to success.

WFCIF also recognizes that women who bear the sole responsibility of a family undergo a tremendous amount of stress. The demands of being an exclusive provider for a family can place a woman at risk for drug abuse and domestic violence. A study conducted by Boston University found that most people abusing alcohol and drugs use these substances to self-medicate their pain, stress, and mental instability.

The team at WFCIF believes that effective treatment and change must take a multi-faceted approach. Not only will the individual’s trauma/addiction be addressed, but also any underlying causes and concerns—for example, the weekly 12 weeks of emotional healing from previous/current traumatic event program. Additionally, the lasting success of the individual is directly related to the behavioral health of the family unit.
